JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using MS Project or Primavera, and monitor project progress.
- Prepare cost estimates for labour, materials, and overheads; develop and maintain cost control systems.
- Conduct cost analyses, recommend cost-saving opportunities, and manage procurement processes.
- Review subcontractor and supplier agreements; prepare interim valuations, progress reports, and final accounts.
- Certify payments and manage claims or disputes.
- Integrate schedule data from project teams and conduct schedule forecasts and variance analyses.
- Assist with the preparation and administration of contracts and manage contractual changes and claims.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to cost and schedule.
- Maintain accurate records of project costs, measurements, and schedules; prepare and distribute performance reports.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by your supervisor or authorized delegate.
Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, Civil engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ working experience in quantity surveying and scheduling within the construction, Engineering or large-scale industrial projects.
- Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and cost management tools.
- Practical use of MS Office Suite applications.
- Ability to read and understand engineering designs for taking off (measurement).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Proven experience in managing project budgets and schedules effectively.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Good planning and negotiating skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
