Key Responsibilities:
Program Support and Coordination:
•  Assist in the development and implementation of projects, strategic plans and roadmaps, most of all in support of the implementation of the above-mentioned Action plan
•  Engage in and develop relations with stakeholders based in the Netherlands
•  Develop and maintain tools in support of sound management of relations with stakeholders based in the Netherlands
•  Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and track progress.
•  Provide regular reports and updates to internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating transparency and accountability.
Cooperation, Contract and Budget Management:
•  Support the development and drafting of informal alignments and formal cooperation agreements with IDH’s partners in the Netherlands, ensuring compliance with financial reporting and procurement policies. Monitor progress.
•  Assist in the proposal development process, including as needed for funding opportunities.
•  Monitor budget allocations and expenditures ensuring data accuracy.
Operational Management:
•  Support smooth and efficient program operation, including logistics and resource allocation.
•  Administer the planning and reporting of human and financial resources in conformity with IDH’s procedures and tools
•  Coordinate and support (annual) planning and reporting, in line with the timetable.
•  Support and coordinate the design of an appropriate Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) for the unit, and undertake M&E across the unit’s expanding portfolio of activities
•  Support the development of efficient internal communication across IDH. Act as the secretary of such communication.
Technical Support:
•  Provide technical support and guidance to program teams, particularly in areas such as tool development and sustainability initiatives.
•  Oversee the development and implementation of technical documents, including funding agreements and letters of assignment.

With a customer-oriented mindset, you support IDH’s leadership in implementing the action plan within the Dutch agrifood network, acting as a key facilitator for progress. 

You are a practical and solution-driven professional who understands the complexities of global agrifood trade. Your awareness of major geopolitical, trade-related, and climate challenges enables you to drive forward-looking, positive action in a rapidly evolving landscape. 

Your strong oral and written communication skills allow you to convey complex ideas with clarity, ensuring open communication and trust among stakeholders, even when interests and views conflict. Through your ability to explain and clarify key issues, you create shared understanding and help stakeholders work towards meaningful, long-term change.

What you bring:
•  Bachelor’s / master’s degree in agriculture, environmental management, international relations or other applicable social sciences.
•  3-5 years of relevant working experience in organization(s) relevant to the work of IDH
•  Proven interest in sustainability and experience with sustainable trade and supply chain approaches, as well as with the Netherlands’ role in global trade.
•  Sound knowledge of the Dutch societal and governmental setting is a plus
•  Advanced language skills in Dutch and English, in speaking and reading (CEFR-level C1) as well as writing (Dutch B2; English C1) 
•  Ability to forge relationships and work effectively with a diverse range of people
•  Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
