JOB DESCRIPTION


You Will:

  • Track new and pending state legislative and regulatory proposals affecting the CPA profession.
  • Maintain internal tracking systems to facilitate information sharing
  • Collaborate with company partners, including state legislative and technical teams, to assess proposals and develop appropriate advocacy strategies.
  • Help draft legislative issue briefs, regulatory comment letters, and other advocacy materials.
  • Conduct policy research on state legislative and regulatory matters relevant to the CPA profession.
  • Support special projects led by the State Regulatory & Legislative Affairs team.
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Associate Director – State Legislation & Regulation, Vice President – State Regulatory & Legislative Affairs, Assistant General Counsel, and other team members.
  • Help schedule meetings and support in preparation of materials for advocacy-related activities.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, government affairs, business administration, communications, or a related field
  • 3+ years' relevant experience legislative tracking, government affairs, regulatory research, public policy, or a related field.
  • Experience working with legislative or regulatory bodies, professional associations, advocacy organizations, or public affairs teams
  • Familiarity with state legislative and regulatory processes, including bill tracking and policy analysis,
