JOB DESCRIPTION


As Part Of Our Team You Will:

  • Work in conjunction with the Senior Asset Planner to determine rubber line maintenance backlogs, scheduling, resource allocation and equipment shutdown planning.
  • Build, develop and manage Rubber Lining Team capable of carrying out the needed engineering.
  • Assist in the development and review of the maintenance standard task procedures (STP’s).
  • Ensure all employees receive appropriate training to enable them to undertake their roles as diligently, efficiently and safely.
  • Oversee mechanical (rubber lining) maintenance work in all process areas (i.e. Crushing, Grinding, CIL, Elution, CCD,).
  • Oversee the erecting of scaffold, inspection and certification.
  • Assist in development of plans and budgets for Asset Management.
  • Co-ordinates Asset Management programs in the process plant typically process maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with Management systems that facilitate safe and efficient operations in alignment with Newmont vision & values.
  • Assist with resolving asset management priorities in conformance with short-term and long-term production goals.
  • Initiate and drive initiative that support with cost control.
  • Assess data to apply asset utilization and cost-effectiveness.
  • Provide reports on asset running performance to Senior Management.
  • Ensure quality assurance, quality control (QA/QC) and continuous improvement initiatives are delivered.
  • Ensure team members are compliant with systems and processes.
  • Responsible for assessing relevant risks, executing mitigation measures, and continuously monitoring for risks.


Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations): 

  • Qualified HND Mechanical Engineering or its equivalent.  
  • Qualified Belt splicer, sandblasting and scaffolding.


Additional Knowledge:

  • Strong working knowledge of maintenance of plant equipment.
  • Inspection Engineering certification from Mincom is an advantage.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience in a mechanical maintenance environment within a mining process plant or similar.
  • Minimum of 3 – 4 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity, managing large and diverse teams.
